Following two years of political deadlock and four election cycles, a new Israeli government was sworn in, led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. The new government, the most diverse in Israel’s history, includes eight political parties from right to left, as well as the Ra’am Arab party.

As the new government takes its first steps, what will be the impact on Israel’s foreign policy? How will it respond to the Iran nuclear deal, the Palestinian conflict, and relations with the United States, Europe, and the new Arab allies? Two veteran Israeli journalists, Barak Ravid of Walla News and Tal Schneider of The Times of Israel, will join us to discuss the changing political landscape in Israel, and its effect on the country’s domestic and foreign policy. A moderated conversation will be followed by a Q&A session.

About the speakers:
Tal Schneider is the Political Correspondent for The Times of Israel. Previously, she was the diplomatic & political correspondent for the Globes business newspaper, the D.C. correspondent for Maariv Daily and runs her own political blog “The Plog.” She is a frequent commentator on Israeli radio & TV stations; a recipient of 2015 Ometz (Public Courage & Integrity) Award; and the 2012 Google Digital Excellence in Journalism Award.

Barak Ravid is a senior Israeli journalist and commentator. He is a diplomatic correspondent for Walla News, a regular contributor to Axios, and a former diplomatic correspondent for Israel’s Channel 13 News and Haaretz newspaper. He covers Israeli politics and foreign affairs and is a specialist on Israel’s relations with the U.S. and Europe, and the peace process.
