Webinar: Innovative Israeli health-tech in the Covid-19 crisis

In view of the global COVID-19 pandemic crisis, which created enormous stress on the health systems worldwide, there was a global need for urgent development and production of ventilation systems for severe Corona patients that need respiratory support.

MDSG, a small Israeli startup company from Rehovot, volunteered to try and build emergency ventilation solutions in minimal time, focussing on reliability and on the medical needs of Corona patients. All would be based on local manufacturing for large scale production, so that if needed an emergency solution would be available in time.

Two representatives of MDSG, Naama Weintraub and Dr. Benny Rousso, will talk about the clinical need at the beginning of the crisis and now, how they managed to make all these steps in just a few weeks, based on innovative ideas, the Israeli way of “thinking outside of the box” and a strong volunteering spirit.

Dr. Rousso was part of co-founders group and management of several medical technology companies for over 20 years. He holds academic degrees in computer sciences (PhD) as well as in mathematics and physics (cum laude) from the Hebrew University, has graduated with honors the Talpiyot program, had an 8-year career at an elite R&D unit of the IDF, and is a member of 8400 cross-sector leaders network of Israel’s HealthTech ecosystem.

Ms. Weintraub has over 3 years of clinical and technology experience in the medical device field, including leading scientific, pre-clinical and clinical research, analyzing potential business opportunities, and direct interactions with key scientists and physicians around the world.  Ms. Weintraub is a certified psychologist and has BSc and MA in psychology and neurosciences.
