SUMMARY:Webinar zum Thema “Western policy towards the Palestinians – ho
w can it influence the prospects of peace”
DESCRIPTION:“Western policy towards the   Palestinians – how can it i
nfluence the prospects of peace”\n\nWhat is Zionism all about? What are
the causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and in particular the “ri
ght of Return”\, what does it really mean and how does it affect the cha
nces to solve the conflict? Dr. Einat Wilf will be addressing these and ot
her question in a LIVE Webinar.\n\nWhen: Tuesday the 19th of May at 14:00
 CET\n\nWhere: www.facebook.com/IsraelinMunich\n\nSeventy-two years after t
he first Arab-Israeli War millions of Palestinians are still registered as
refugees\, with many living in refugee camps. This group—unlike countle
ss others that were displaced in the aftermath of World War II and other c
onflicts—has remained unsettled\, demanding to settle in the state of Is
rael. Their belief in a "right of return" is one of the largest obstacles
to successful diplomacy and lasting peace in the region.\n\nIn her bestsel
ling book The War of Return\, Einat Wilf\, together with coauthor Adi Schw
artz — both supporters of a two-state solution — reveals the origins o
f the idea of a right of return\, and explains how UNRWA gave in to Palest
inian\, Arab and international political pressure to create a permanent
“refugee” problem.\n\nYou find the book here: : https://us.macmillan.c
om/books/9781250252760\n\nDr. Einat Wilf is a leading thinker on matters o
 f foreign policy\, economics\, education\, Israel and Zionism and is the a
uthor of six books that explore key issues in Israeli society. She was a m
ember of the Israeli Parliament from 2010-2013\, where she served as Chair
of the Education Committee and Member of the influential Foreign Affairs
and Defense Committee. In the past she served as Foreign Policy Advisor t
o Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres and a strategic consultant with McKinse
 y &amp\; Company.\n\nDr. Wilf has a BA from Harvard\, an MBA from INSEAD i
n France\, and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Cambridge
